SARAH TO COMPETE IN WCSS
Submitted by: Sarah Cornett-Ching
At only 18, Sarah Cornett-Ching is going into her 5th year of racing. She started out running an '89 Cavalier in the Claimer series at Penticton Speedway, then she
started in the Hornet series in an '89 Mazda 323.
Three years and two championships later, Sarah stepped into a '79 Monte Carlo that she raced in the Nascar Whelen Series at Sun Valley Speedway. In
her rookie year she finished 11th, with a season best finish of 3rd at Penticton Speedway, and 5th at Sun Valley Speedway.
This winter Sarah was asked by Korbin Thomas and the Finish Line team if she would be interested in driving one of their Sportsman cars in the West Coast
Sportsman Series (WCSS). Sarah will be driving the six WCSS races at Sun Valley Speedway in the Sportsman as well as 18 Nascar Whelen series races in her
Streetstock.
Sarah can't wait to drive a Sportsman series car for the first time, and she hopes her dad will be able to get his car on the track for some good old
fashioned father-daughter rivalry. Her dad, on the other hand, is a little bit nervous to say the least. Along with his nervousness he is excited for her,
and can't wait to see how she does.
